Ramp Up
The progressive increase of traffic to a new feature or test variation to manage risk.
Ramp-up: Process of progressively increasing the traffic exposed to a new feature or to a test variation as part of an A/B testing.
This controlled ramp-up helps limit technical or business risks (bugs, drop in conversion, user rejection) by closely monitoring performance at each stage (e.g.: 5%, 10%, 25%, etc.).
It is often used alongside feature flags or progressive rollouts, and offers the advantage of validating early performance signals while maintaining the stability of the overall system.
