The company
Société des Bains de Mer
La Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco (SBM) is a historic and iconic company based in Monaco. It is notably famous for its prestigious casino, its four luxury hotels, as well as its 27 restaurants and other high-end activities. SBM employs nearly 3,000 people and offers unique experiences to a wealthy, international clientele. To maintain its level of excellence, both in its establishments and on its digital platforms, SBM relies on specialized partners such as Welyft.

The challenge
How to translate a premium experience to the digital environments of Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco?
Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco (SBM) has a main domain for all its activities, comprising several dedicated universes such as hospitality, dining, the casino, the wellness space... Each year, their site records several million visits!
The main challenge for SBM was to recreate an online user experience just as high-end as the one offered in its establishments, right from the welcome. To do this, it partnered with Welyft, which, with the help of Didomi, implemented personalization from the moment visitors arrive on the site.
"Our first challenge is to offer an overall stay experience that exceeds our customers' expectations"
- Anthony Chiarel, Digital Marketing Manager at Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco
The project began with a simple observation: the first interaction with a visitor on the site is the GDPR banner. A "legal" message far removed from the standards of a 5-star hotel welcome.
For Welyft, the challenge was therefore to optimize the welcome of visitors on the site while taking into account the constraints related to the limited amount of data available before cookie acceptance.
Welyft used contextual elements available to all users upon arrival on the page. Based on this data, they were able to create a more personalized welcome, likely to capture visitors' interest.

Results
Results
A user-centered approach for a notable improvement in the consent rate
After implementing the personalization of the Didomi banner, SBM saw a 5-point increase in the consent rate, rising from 81.5% to 86.5%. This improvement was even more noticeable on mobile, an essential channel for Société des Bains de Mer.
In addition to improving consent rates, the personalization of their banner strengthened user trust. Clearer messages and immersive visuals allowed visitors to interact more naturally with the site.
It's important to note that these results were achieved while respecting users. This shows that the user experience is a key factor for success!
Thanks to this personalization, SBM was able to recreate an online experience more aligned with its offering. The user-centric approach, integrated from the very first interaction with the consent banner, helped increase customer satisfaction and encourage more positive behaviors from the moment they arrived on the site.

This is of course only the beginning, as SBM’s goal is to deliver a personalized experience from the first to the last interaction.
The partnership between Welyft and Didomi enabled SBM to achieve its goals in terms of customer experience and GDPR compliance. The Didomi solution proved robust and flexible, meeting SBM’s technical needs and personalization requirements, while ensuring smooth implementation and performance monitoring.

“Welyft’s teams quickly identified levers for improvement to achieve short- and medium-term results. Welyft thus played a key role in transforming SBM’s approach.”
